1. Use of the website

www.textbookpoint.co.uk and www.textbookpoint.com are available for your use 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. This includes bank holidays and Christmas day.

2. Use of offline Textbook Points

Points are at carefully chosen locations and when on the premises, users are subject to the house rules of the establishment. Textbook Point accepts no liability for improper use of these premises. All Textbook Point users must confirm that they are either 18 years old or have the consent of a parent/guardian in order to use this service.

3. Membership

Membership of Textbook Point is free. It requires registration via the website and is open to all students of the Universities listed on the website. Members are required to register and validate their account with their University email address. If your University is not listed and you are interested in using this service, please contact Customer Services. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to discontinue services to Members found to be breaching house rules or acting in a way that is harmful to Textbook Point, its staff or other Members. This does not interfere with your statutory rights.

4. Trading books

Only registered Textbook Point Members may trade books to us. We believe that all books have value and undertake to purchase your textbook for a minimum of £1. This payment will be made within 1 working day* of the receipt of your book at a Textbook Point. The payment is made per book and as such 1 book = £1 and 10 books = £10 etc.
With Textbook Point, you have two options. You can choose Instant Cash OR Best Value Cash for your textbooks.
Instant cash: is guaranteed cash for your textbooks. Bring a textbook to a Point with your Membership Card and we’ll offer you up to 35% for the book in cash, then and there. No questions asked. Instant cash values are available on certain titles at certain Points and you’ll also have the option to enter the Best Value Cash Process.
Best Value Cash: Your deposit of a book at a Point or the collection of a book by a Point, appoints Textbook Point to act as an agent to sell your book. You must be the legal owner of all books transferred to Textbook Point. We operate a fair and transparent policy and have strict quality control methods. We aim to buy books that are in a condition that you would like to receive them. As such, we inspect each book and undertake to provide you with the best price for your book within 5 working days*. During this time, your book will be kept securely and in the unlikely instance that there is loss or damage to your book in this time, a new replacement will be provided. Your final offer will be sent to you via your registered email address and/or by text message. If you accept this offer, a contract forms between us and payment will be made within 1 working day* of your acceptance. If you refuse the offer, you are entitled to the return of the book on the condition that you repay the £1 that we paid to you in goodwill. Guidance offer prices for textbooks will be provided wherever possible and presumes that the book in question is in excellent condition.

*Transaction times are provided as guidelines and all real-time statuses will be visible via user accounts.

5. Member offers

By becoming a Member of Textbook Point, you will have the ability to make offers on inventory that we have in stock. Emails will be sent periodically to give you enhanced access to our stock for a limited period only. You can make an offer via your Members Portal and our response will be communicated to you within 24 hours. You will then have the option to collect the book or request free postage (orders over £30) to any UK mainland address.

6. Payment

All offers are made in pounds sterling (£) on our UK website unless books are traded for prizes (see section 7). We offer payment via a variety of methods including: Cash (certain Points); Cheque; Faster Payments (UK bank account) and Paypal. The choice is yours and we ask that you provide the correct details for the payment via your Members Portal. Textbook Point accepts no responsibility for any loss that arises if we are provided with incorrect membership details. Members are asked to keep account details up to date and will be reminded to check and certify these during the process.

7. Corporate Social Responsibility

In conjunction with carefully selected partners, as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, we sometimes offer members prizes in exchange for old textbooks. This includes, but is not limited to, tickets for nights at clubs, sporting events, theme parks and theatre visits. Offers will be communicated to members via the Social Responsibility page and via email and Facebook. As of 02/10/15, we offer INSTANT codes for certain tickets. These are valid for 1 year and we endeavor to deliver these instantly on checkout. If, for any reason, your ticket is not dispensed instantly, please expect this to be forwarded to you within 1 hour during the hours of 8am - 9pm GMT Monday to Sunday.

You can also subscribe by text to receive these offers/communications to your mobile device(s). To sign up, text Book to 60300. Please note that standard network rate applies for this text message. Texts are free to receive.

On a more serious note, as part of our belief that all books have value, we regularly donate textbooks to orphanages that sponsor talented students through University. Knowledge and education is an important right and we would like to share this privilege as often as possible. We have a network of global University partners. 8. Competitions

From time to time we will make our Members aware of competitions. To enter a competition you must be: (a) UK resident; and (b) 18 years old or over at the time of entry. Our competitions are not open to employees (or members of their immediate families) of Textbook Point Ltd, Our parent company Primetime Connect Ltd, any subsidiary of Primetime Connect Ltd or any of its trading names. No purchase is necessary to enter our competitions and there is only one entry per person. Instructions on how to enter any competition will be made clear, but if in doubt, please contact Customer Services. The closing date is as specified in each competition, and we reserve the right to amend the competition end date at any time. The winner(s) will be notified email, or social media if you entered the competition on a social media platform, within 72 working hours of the competition closing date. The prize is not transferrable to another person. The prize is not exchangeable for cash or any other prize. If we do not receive a response within 72 hours, we reserve the right to select another winner. We also reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to change the advertised prize(s) for one of an equal or greater value. Our decision will be final. You can find out who has won a particular competition by sending a stamped addressed envelope to our registered address. By entering the competition, the winner agrees to participate in such promotional activity and material as Textbook Point LTD may require.

9. Intellectual Property

Primetime Connect Ltd owns the trademark Textbook Point® / Textbook Point™ and its logo. Any other trademarks used on this website are the property of their respective owners. The Textbook Point trademark may only be used in conjunction with goods or services produced or commissioned by Textbook Point LTD. For the avoidance of any doubt, the logo may only be used by Textbook Point LTD or during production of products comissioned by Textbook Point LTD. All rights are reserved and you may not modify, copy, distribute, frame, republish, display, post or transmit any intellectual property displayed on this website. This website is subject to copyright protection and is wholly owned by Textbook Point LTD. Commercial use of this website without express consent is prohibited. Copying or distributing information that you do not own may be classed as infringement of one or more intellectual property conventions, laws, rules, regulations or treaties.

10. Security

All pages where sensitive information is exchanged are encrypted by a Secure Socket Layer (SSL). This ensures the highest security for the personal details you supply to us. Our security certificate is issued by Godaddy™ and is industry standard 128 bit key inscription, meaning that in the unlikely event of interception over the web, this information cannot be read.

11. Use of Third Party Websites

From time to time, we will link to third party websites via advertisements or affiliate links. This is done for your convenience. Whilst we do check all links and operate via a Secure Server in order to protect our website users, we accept no responsibility for the consequences of use of third party content or websites accessed from our pages. Unless expressly stated, a link on our website does not act as an endorsement of a third party.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held invalid, illegal or unenforceable the validity, legality or enforceability of the remaining provisions will not in any way be affected or impaired thereby.

13. Jurisdiction

This website is primarily in English, however, in order to honour our international Members, we will provide translated versions of the website. Regardless of the primary language in which the website is accessed, all contracts will be governed by the Law of England and Wales. All contracts are concluded in English.

14. Changes

We reserve the right to change the Terms and Conditions of this website. Users are advised to check current Terms and Conditions periodically. Major changes will be communicated to Members via email.
